Welcome to my blog. I hope you find plenty of inspiration here. Nothing too fancy, no great skills required, just lots of cards, gifts and perhaps the odd bit of shopping.
My blog contains lots of links to freebies. Without sounding like "mother" can I ask you to leave a kind comment to the generous givers of such fabulous artwork. I know of at least a couple of artists who are feeling a bit unloved at the moment. Thanks. X

New Baby Card.
Speedy's niece has given birth to a baby boy so of course a card is in order. I have just made it this morning and needed to take a quick piccie before it goes off to Australia tomorrow with the rest of the family's cards.
This, along with the baby girl stamp, both from Lilli of the Valley, is one of my favourite baby stamps.I was naughty last week and bought the Best of K and Company pad of 360 papers. They were priced at £29.99 but as the pad was a bit dog eared i got a fiver Knocked off. The papers are gorgeous though and i've been hankering for ages.
The glitter glue is still wet so it doesn't look too good but i needed to write it and give it to speedy (still wet and not in the envelope) to take to his mums. So off he's gone and left me in peace.
I'm entering it into the C.R.A.F.T. New baby challenge.

Lily of the valley Christmas card.
Hello all, i hope you're enjoying your weekend. Another dry day here in Chester so i think we'll be going for a walk into town later. I may be able to kick Speedy into action with his part of the Christmas shopping .Speaking of Christmas, i've made another card. I don't really enjoy making Christmas cards and it really shows in this one, it's sort of bunged together, lol.
The stamp is from Lily of the Valley and along with Papermania Deck the Halls papers and a Penny Black clear set, it is the only stash i've bough for Christmas cards this year as i bought quite a lot last year and need to use it up. The greeting is from a Papermania clear set. The matting and scalloped circle are done in a holly green but it looks black in the photo. I need to count up my Christmas cards in the hope that i have enough and won't have to make any more and can just play around making gifts.
Thanks for visiting, see you soon. Di.xx

Silver wedding anniversary card.
I don't know why it took me hours to make this easy card but it did ! I started by using the silver embossed card (from Payperbox) as the actual card base but decided i didn't like it, so i used a white 6"x6" card instead. then i decided it needed another layer between the white and silver but couldn't decide what colour so opted for black.
The heart stamp was free with a mag about 2 years ago. I stamped it in silver and embossed with clear powder, and yes you guessed it took me a few goes to do it without singeing the paper, lol. I don't heat emboss very often so i'm not used to how far i can push it.
Then i couldn't decide on flower colour and where to put them. I started with a large silver bow but decided on lilac flowers with a small bow in which case i could have used purple card instead of black. I got there in the end though. Funnily enough i actually enjoyed making it! It is for Speedy's sister and brother in law for next week. There are 50 of us all going out for a big scoff, luckily it's on friday after my weigh in lol.
Speaking of which.........................
The friday weigh in, 9st 6lb. The pound i put on last week is back off, total loss back to 10lbs. I do hope i'm not going to be playing with the same pound on and off all the time. And i've told Patrick if he buys me a cake today he'll be wearing it, he still bought me one last week even though i'd put a pound back on, naughty boy!

Oh boy.
Oh bless!! My third Lilli of the Valley stamp has been inked up and what a sweetie he is.
That dog looks a bit ferocious though, good job he's glued to the cart! Maybe he's just seen the postman.
The card base is 6"x6" and the buttons and paper are from my stash. I think i'll save this card for when my stepson and his girlfriend have their baby which will be in the next couple of weeks.
As usual on a satuday it's work until 1.30 then a few drinkies with my bessie mate(Speedy)

New quickie layout.
On wednesday i was stalking the galleries at SCS and noticed a simple but effective little layout for the latest clean and simple challenge. As my main challenge is my missing mojo this was just what i needed. "A new serving suggestion" as they say on that irritating Philadelphia advert.
Ain't that simple? Th stamp is my new one from Lily of the Valley. There was a set of 4 but i was very good and only ordered one.
I put some liquid pearls on the mistletoe and some glitter glue on the snow. The card base is 5"x5". I reckon i'll be making quite a few more from this little layout. If you want more inspiration there's plenty HERE.
Off to get ready for work now. See you soon. Di. XX
Friday weigh in. 9st 8lbs. That stubborn pound is off making a total of 8lbs. Happier this week, i won't be quite so horrified if Patrick makes me eat a cake.
Edit for Sarah. Most of my cards are blank inside. Chrismas ones have merry christmas and a happy new year, which i print onto an insert an i'll do one for specials like mums 90th. Not easy to get these centered but when done they can be saved fo future use.

Oh Sweeeeeet!!
As usual, I'm always the last to get the latest stamp, papers etc and just as everyone else is getting bored with theirs,I receive mine through the post. This is my latest example. This little Lilli of the Valley baby girl stamp. I also ordered the boy which I'll have a play with later.
I used my fiskars border punch after forgetting I had it for ages. The buttons were a bit too pale so I coloured them with promarkers. The paper is from my DCWV stack number 6, not getting fed up with it yet as it has so many styles. The card base is 6"x6".
Before I can play with the little boy stamp I've go to make 10 more wedding invites as the bride and groom miscounted. Luckily I thought this may happen and have got some ready to assemble, I think I'll make a few extra just in case.
Thanks for looking in. Di. xx
