Welcome to my blog. I hope you find plenty of inspiration here. Nothing too fancy, no great skills required, just lots of cards, gifts and perhaps the odd bit of shopping.

My blog contains lots of links to freebies. Without sounding like "mother" can I ask you to leave a kind comment to the generous givers of such fabulous artwork. I know of at least a couple of artists who are feeling a bit unloved at the moment. Thanks. X

Guitar Edwin.

Hi everyone.I got to my mums yesterday and she'd made me some little CAKES!!!!  I  was so tempted but i was a good girl, i brought them home and put them straight into the freezer, phew!! I'm not going to tell Speedy about them otherwise they'll come straight back out,i may pull a couple out at the weekend depending on the scales.I made some crab and sweetcorn soup for last night and tonight which is a good start.

The "card du jour" is one of my older ones from my picasa albums. I think i was still using whispers pens for colouring. I can't remember where i got the paper from, dead helpful today hey? Still it is early. I'm off to work soon, i'm working with my boss who is only 22 and eats all day.Great.
         See you soon.  Di.x

Tilda's gone dotty.

Mornin' everyone, it looks like it's going to be another nice one.Diet starts today weighing in at ten stone two! Bear in mind i'm only 5' 2", of slight build and most of the weight is "out front". Me and Speedy are both the same shape! Mention diet to him though and he starts panic eating so we went to our local and had fish chips and peas as a sort of  "last supper". I reckon if i do a weigh in on here every friday i've got a better chance of sticking to it. We'll see.
Anyway on to the card.
That flower doesn't clash like that in real life and who said the camera never lies? The paper is from the papermania naughty and nice christmas pad.My nesties had a rare airing for this one.
I coloured tilda with promarkers and propped her up with 3d foam pads. A little peel off and some flat backed gems finishes it off.
I'm off to mums today to help her with her shopping. She's 89 and a damn sight fitter than i'll ever be.   Thanks for visiting.  Di. x

I've been shopping.

I've needed a new pillow for months now,you know how they go flat and you end up having to sleep with your hand underneath. Not good! I don't drive and Speedy is not forthcoming with offers of  transport to the shops but today i made him take me to Dunhelm mill. I packed him off to PC World to stop him "sitting on my shoulder" all around the shop(as they do).I was mooching around upstairs (no craft stuff in the Chester one) and came by these flowers.

They were less than a fiver for the lot. When i took them to the till the assistant dutifully said "these are lovely are'nt they". She looked horrified when i said i was going to rip them to bits!!
Here they are ripped to bits..............
There were 40 on the blue stem and 23 various sized ones on the cream stem.I tittered to my self when i read on the label "this is not a toy", i'm sorry but a beg to differ!!
I also bought a shower curtain, some new towels, oh, and a new pillow!
Well isn't it a lovely sunny day? I've got to go on a diet this week, i'm not grossly overweight but i can;t hide behind cardigans and coats anymore. The booze belly has sadly got to go, christmas is finally over!!!

Stamps happen number 4.

Here is the card made with the last of my Stamps Happen finds from hobbycraft.
The papers are from Clare Curds signature stack, i don't think i'll ever work my way through this massive pad! The flowers are made using a Clare Curd clear set.
The card base is a 6"x6" linen card.I felt it wasn't quite finished so i added a bit of doodling around the edges. This is not the first time this stamp has been inked up. I made this little gift set to go with my stepdaughters 21st birthday prezzie a while ago.
The instuctions for the little gift bag are here. The notepad was 19p from Wilkinsons. The card is 5"X5, you don't need an envelope.
Working till 1.30 today then off to the pub for a different kind of "artistry" lol. Good luck in the Grand National.    Di. xx

Stamps happen number 3.

This is what i was making on wednesday night when i got sidetracked by the little wooden hearts.
The third of my stamps happen bargains,(although i did find them on the Sirstampalot site at £5.95 last night). The background paper is Papermania creative tones and the cardbase is 5"x5" hessian look.
I added a bit of liquid pearls for the froth. The sentiment stamp is from Elzybels,i know latte and espresso aren't the same but who cares!
Off to work now see you soon .  Di.x

Calling fellow docrafters.

After all the site problems, this new site had better be a darned site better, i've spent half the morning trying to add a second photo to an upload and now i can't even get into the forums. RANT RANT RANT!!!

Summer love.

My sister bought me a little packet of wooden hearts for christmas and they've been sitting around in my drawer waiting for the brain to kick in.I found them last night when i was looking for something else and i thought "tonight's the night"! I abandoned what i was doing and made these little notecards before the idea left my head.
The little cards are 4"x4" made with hessian look card again. Then i needed something to package them in .I wasn't in a box making mood so i put them in a cello bag and made a matching topper. The "love" stamp was in a set of 6 from Lakeland about 2 years ago.
Well there's another little pressie for in my emergency stash. Thanks for looking. Di. xx   P.S The hearts were from Hobbycraft.

Stamp happens 2.

Here is my next card made from my quad of Stamp Happens bargains from Hobbycraft.
You can't actually see it but the card base is a lovely hessian texture,(another bargain from the papermill shop). I've been photographing it  all around the flat trying to get it to show up, even the toilet seat in the brightly lit bathroom was no good!Oh well never mind. The paper is from my minds eye bloom and grow pad.
Ooh, you can see it in this pic! Not such a wasted morning after all.Got a friend calling round tomorrow so i've got to tidy up a bit, then nip to town, then i might get time to play again before kitchen duty.

Wine lovers.

The usual short tuesday post as i'm off to the jobette. This little card is made from a stamp by Stamp Happens. I bought it at Hobbycraft fo £4.95. I thought it was a bit of a bargain for that shop so i checked on t'int when i got home and most places were selling it at around £7.95.
Next time i went i saw 3 more similar ones so i just had to buy them. It is my mission to ink them up tomorrow.               See you soon Di. xx

Fatty Speed!!

I feel so fat! I ate and drank so much yesterday and now i'm good for nothing. The good news though is i've lost a pound a week since christmas. The bad news is it's the same pound! The one i put on every weekend, well i've probably put a few on this week! Luckily i have a little emergency stash of cards in picasa ready for days like this.
I got this little tin of stamps at dies to die for(see side bar) last year and i love them to bits. I was looking through my stash and found a pad of papers which i got free with an order from somewhere ages ago. It's not what i'd have chosen to buy, proper gawdy stuff but i made myself use some of it, a sort of challenge.
These are about the best sheets in the whole pad,the others are nasty loud pinks and dirty yellows.
I'm going for a walk into town later ,so hopefully the fesh air might sort me out lol.
     Thanks for visiting  Di. xx

Hi there! More Notecards.

First of all let me tell you what fun i had at my local yesterday afternoon.I always go straight from work with Speedy for a bit of liquid refreshment. Yesterday i took a bag of these little pouches and as people nipped to the loo i snook one onto their table.

It was such a hoot watching them when they came back. They'd pick it up, scrutinise it, look all around the pub then say to the nearest person "where did this come from"? Of course no one knew, i'm too sneaky. So they'd put it down again sligtly to one side, then a few minutes later they'd pick it up again and look around. It was only when they were about to leave that i put them out of their misery. Fo more info on making them see here.
I had a couple of hours playtime this morning while speedy was watching the grand prix so i made this little notecard set.
I love making these as they are very quick and are handy to have in for little thank yous or emergency gifts. The stripy paper is from my scrap box, i only just had enough to finish the inside flaps. The stamp is from the penny black 12 days of christmas clear set.
There is a bit more info on making them here.
Thanks for visiting, make sure you take your little gift below.  Di.x

Help yourselves and i'll see you a bit later.   Di.x

Another male card

Morning everyone, are we in the same country as we were yesterday? I can't believe the difference in the weather! Hope none of you have had any April fools tricks played on you yet.
It's my bother in laws birthday next week so i thought i'd make him a funny card.
The spotty paper is from Clare Curds signature stack and the stamp is by rubbernecker.I got it in a set from C&C  about two years ago.The caption is part of the set.
The letter stickers are from the Papermill shop.Buttons from Abakhan which is dangerously close to my house, luckily they don't have a lot of cardmaking stuff as it's quite a small shop.
Well i'm off into town now to pay the telly licence!       Thanks for visiting.  Di. x
