Scrappy Pictures.

Hello again. Long time no see, lol. Since my last post I've had my hours cut at work. I'm in 5 days a week instead of three but have lost seven hours as I'm doing short shifts. Bit of a bummer but the main cause is the opening of a new Tesco Express at the end of the street. They should never be allowed to do this. There is also a cheese shop and a butcher who have been affected.
Anyway as a result I've had less cash to play with but more time to get thrifty. I've been scouring the charity shops for bargains to paint up or alter and have found quite a few cheap picture frames. My obsession with Pinterest came in handy here and I thought I'd show you what can be done for next to nothing.

Sorry about the reflection in the glass. This one was punched out of a map of Paris and the surrounding area, also from a charity shop.

This one was made with all sorts of bits and bobs.

And this is my favourite. I've done this one for the bathroom as I've just bought towels, curtains and accessories in burnt orange and pear green, not from the charity shops, lol.
The little heart punch was £1,65 from Abakhan. Another bargain.

I couldn't help myself.

I was in Tesco this morning and noticed the loose "fill a bag" sweets. I spotted these false teeth and thought about my workmate's hubby who has just had 6 top ones fitted. Then I remembered the bloke who sweeps the roads outside the shop also recently had a full set.Both of them are up for a laugh. Well, what's a girl to do??

I made up the little poem and found the sad man on Google images.

I also went into Boots to look for Christmas pressie ideas and found these among all the boring toiletry sets.

Sorry about the blurred photo. The hard backed note book at the back says " little gorjuss thoughts and was £10. With the 2 for 3 offer I got the memo block free. A nice little pressie for a young lady or perhaps a fellow crafter.

Well that's it from me for now. I'll weigh myself in the morning and confess to being a right greedy madam all week. I'll be good next week.......................

Update.  Target weight 9st 2lb Today 9st 3lb. Should have been worse really.

Another male card.

I've made 3 cards this morning but the light is so bad i only took a pic of this one in the hope that it might be brighter tomorrow.

The funny little chap is from a set called Ethel and Murray. I bought it from Create and Craft years ago . I should use it more often as there's some cheeky old dears in the set as well as the captions to go with them. I used a 5" x5" card base and the circle greeting is from Craftwork Cards. The wonky faux stitching is done with a gold Sakura gel pen.

Completely off the subject, Speedy is a mechanic and works for himself. All through our marriage i've had to guess what time he's coming home for his evening meal. Even if we agree on a time someone turns up at the garage wanting a quick job done, so i've been limited to making stuff that will hang around the stove top, ie curry, chilli, casseroles etc. Anything which has to be cooked for a precise length of time is out of the question. I'm totally against reheating food as it carries on cooking it. I also like us to eat our meal together at the table. A few weeks ago i was in B&M and i spotted the solution. It was only £21.99 so it was worth a try. Here's a pic of the Argos version.

 What a godsend it is ! We can have roast dinners. The meat is carved in the gravy in one tray, carrots and sprouts in the other and cauliflower cheese done and the top browned under the grill in the third. Voila! all the pans and roasting dishes are washed and put away. And the roasties?  Cooked and ready to blast in a hot oven when i get the "i'm on my way" phone call. Bliss! I would even pay the £49.99 from Argos. The cookery books are out and plans are being made. Look out diet,lol.

WHS Bargains and new Woodware stamps.

I've got new stash coming out of my ears at the moment and i don't know where to start playing first!! I've still got loads of birthday money left too, i suppose i could spend it on new clothes but that's for grown ups lol. First of all ,get yourselves down to WHS and delve into any bargain bins they might have.

Bargains or what? I'm so pleased with the scissors, i have a few decorative ones which i use now and again but these are more of an irregular "torn" design.
Next up is a card i made with my new Woodware Mika and Friends clear set.

I must get myself a black promarker. I used a whispers pen for the kimonos but they are no good for blending with promarkers. The girls are cut out and glued onto the cream linen card, i didn't use 3d foam as i want to sell it and i like to keep my sale cards fairly flat as a lot of people aren't aware of the new postage rules.
Poor Speedy still hasn't seen his grandson.Neil rang to ask him to move his slot to a later one as another "visitor" was having our slot. Speedy's a mechanic who works for himself and had a car already booked in for that time so couldn't go. He had actually just nipped home to get changed when he got the call. He's fully booked up today too. I felt really sorry for him but have learned to keep my mouth shut.I suppose there'll be plenty of time when he's home.

Oops!! Oh well..............

Oh dear i've been shopping. When i was in WHS on monday i spotted this DCWV paper stack.

There was one partly opened so i had a quick peek,fell in love and put it back as i was supposed to be scouting for bargains and at £21.99 this was definitely not .

Well like a lovesick teenager i pined for it all day yesterday so this morning i decided as i had enough money in my card sales pot i should go and invest.

I'm glad i did, there's loads of different styles.

There's pages for youngsters, oldies, men, women and babies.

Some of the colours are even suitable for Christmas.

That's just a few of the pages there's loads more. Excuse camera shake on some of them,i was holding the pages open with one hand. So there i was walking home past Abakhan and this arm came out and dragged me in!! I thought well i may as well look at the ribbons while i'm here and spotted a whole reel of braid type stuff for £2.  Add to that some more ribbon and some buttons and gems and there's another £8 down the swanny.

Needless to say i'm not going through the door tomorrow !    Di.xx
