Welcome to my blog. I hope you find plenty of inspiration here. Nothing too fancy, no great skills required, just lots of cards, gifts and perhaps the odd bit of shopping.

My blog contains lots of links to freebies. Without sounding like "mother" can I ask you to leave a kind comment to the generous givers of such fabulous artwork. I know of at least a couple of artists who are feeling a bit unloved at the moment. Thanks. X

Couldn't say goodbye.

Hey! We've found somewhere to live. A friend of ours bought an ex council maisonette about 6 years ago in a nice quiet area. He's getting married and has decided to rent it out. Best thing is that it's got 3 bedrooms and although it's very small I get my own craft room which isn't shared with Speedy's junk.Yippee.
Before we knew this I started purging all my belongings, including papers. I went through all my 12" stacks and took out all the pages which were too dull, or patterns too big to make cards intending to donate to charity. I put the bag by the door. Next night the bag got carted back into my craft room. I just couldn't part with my beautiful papers. So.................

I sat over the next couple of evenings and made nearly 300 paper bags. Crazy, I know, but I still have my babies. Here are a few designs.

And a few more.

I could go on, but I won't, lol. They measure approx. 6"x 8" and are a good size for a posh choccie bar, a voucher and a card.  I have since taken a few of them up to the next level. Why do we suddenly become oozing with mojo when we should be doing other things? I'll  post a tutorial and later pics within the next couple of days between packing. xx.  Oh and we have a garden after living 14 years mid air. Big move in 4 weeks. xx

This is so funny, you've just got to laugh (again).

Regular readers will know i bought a treadmill about 3 weeks ago to speed up my diet which has been a source of amusement. This is a weekend off diet and i've either been losing a pound a week or "sticking" despite stuffing my face every weekend. Not bad eh? In fact too good to be true, even, strange. When i first hopped on my treadmill i was rather gutted to find i had walked a mile at 4mph and only burned 30 cals. Right Mrs, i thought, got to go further, faster. I've got myself up to strutting 4 miles in the mornings and one or two miles at night at five /five and a half miles an hour, but a 4 mile session  still  only burned 120cals. It has took me three weeks to start wondering if it could be wrong. HELLO?!  I decided to stroll a mile at 2mph to test it out, still only read 30 cals,a bit suspicious i thought ..........Hmmm...............!!!!..I've just been on endless websites with endless calculators for weight, mph, distance etc and they ALL say i've been burning at least 100 cals per mile at 5mph!!! That's on top of the calories cut on food in the week !!  This is so funny !! I've been strutting off at least 550 cals a day on that thing (700 today) plus walking into town and back (one and a half miles)thinking i was burning off a lettuce leaf!! This is the best ever discovery, to scoff every weekend and get rid in the week,.............justice will be done!! Best £120 i ever spent, lol. The best bit is that it gets easier every time i use it.

I've been such a good girl.

A few weeks after starting my blog i showed you a photo of my craft room.I had lost my mojo and trashed the place trying to find it. I'm sure you've all done it yourselves. This is what it looked like and to be honest it's been more or less the same ever since........well ............since before then actually!

In fact looking at the photo now, it got much worse to the left side. Everything was piled up. When i needed paper and card they were at the bottom of the pile then i needed my pens and they were at the bottom of the pile now, and so on,every time i unearthed something i buried something else.
Well yesterday day i got sick of it. I tried to make some cards and was getting more and more annoyed with myself so i stopped and went and got a bin bag. I went through everything and sorted it into rubbish and charity shop.,it took hours! Here is the finished result, take a look as it probably won't last.

Bliss next time a make any cards. Why do we keep all those half made cards which didn't wok out, all those bits of  kits we started off with from "Create and Crap" and all those bits of scrap paper that we don't even like?

Look at the nice clean desk, no blobs of glitter glue or streaks of ink.No scraps of card and paper all over the guillotine.

I've always stored my promarkers in an A4 really useful box with the colour chart stuck inside the lid. I'm sick of foraging around trying to find certain colours so i put the greys, browns, greens and skin tones into zippy bags, problem solved.

All my A4 card is nice and neat again, i think i got this file box from WHS, i seem to remember using a £5 off stationary voucher towards it,otherwise it would have been Rymans as there's nowhere else in Chester. All my scraps of coloured card are separated into colours in A4 zipper wallets in the tub with the red lid. That was from B&M.
I was so pleased that i only just managed to stop myself ringing speedy to get a bottle of wine. I decided to wait until tonight in case it ruined the weigh in! Oh and in case you're wondering..........yes i did keep the peel offs!!

Friday weigh in 9st 10lb but only just, after squeezing out a second pee! Thats one more pound off making it 6 in total. So glad i didn't have that wine last night.

Proper dozy!!

Eeee, you learn summat new every day! Todays little gem of a discovery is when i edit photos in picasa it's best to then save them.(duh). I've been wondering why my photos on here appear to be dull when they are ok in picasa. Now sometimes i can't help right clicking on things just to see what comes up. I clicked on one of my pics and one of the options was "save". That's when the penny dropped!! The reason i'm posting this is, one,to embarass myself, and, two, to help any other technophobes out there. Hopefully tomorrows pics should be better (otherwise i'll look even dafter).
