Hello peeps. Just got back from having my routine smear test, yuk. Anyway enough of that, let's talk about cake instead. Much better.
These cakes are from a set of clear stamps by Woodware called "tea for two". The caption is by Elzybells and the little circle sentiment is from craftwork cards.
Here's a close up of the yummy cakes just to make you all hungry. The border is done with a Fiskars punch and the card base is 5"x7".
I'm going to get myself something to eat (not cake) then i'm going to use this mornings "ordeal" (wasn't really though but don't tell Speedy) as an excuse to laze around in my den. xxx

Welcome to my blog. I hope you find plenty of inspiration here. Nothing too fancy, no great skills required, just lots of cards, gifts and perhaps the odd bit of shopping.
My blog contains lots of links to freebies. Without sounding like "mother" can I ask you to leave a kind comment to the generous givers of such fabulous artwork. I know of at least a couple of artists who are feeling a bit unloved at the moment. Thanks. X

Oooh, i made a card !
You've no idea how long it took me to make this card, lol, and how much mess i made in the process. I ve been more interested in sorting my flat out and chucking stuff in the bin but as this is a card making blog i thought i'd better make an effort.
I got caught up in the excitement before Christmas at the Docrafts forum when Cardcraft were doing a special offer of Goody bags for £5 each. I ordered 3 and gave the parcel unwrapped to speedy to put with my Christmas pressies. Although they were worth £5 each they are not what i would normally buy so they are a bit of a challenge along with the missing mojo.
I used one of the blank cards, (there was 30, plus envies in each goody bag) and some backing paper and the birthday sentiment. The cake and the caption is from a Woodware clear set.
I've thrown loads of stuff out and i haven't started on Speedy's yet. He has so many clothes (naff ones the ex wife bought, 12 years ago, lol) which are never going to fit him so i'm going to have to whip him into action. I'm not doing it for him but i'll be watching over him. The kitchen is getting there, such a big kitchen but not enough storage so i've made space in the cupboards for stuff that was hanging around the worktops. I must admit to being a bit of a gadget freak and the bag sealer did come in handy for sealing my sweet bags but it is now inside the cupboard with the sausage/ mince machine, lol. Just need room for the ice cream maker and the slow cooker now. I do use all this gadgetry though, homemade sausages and ice cream are the best.
Speeking of food.....Target weight, 9st 2lb, Today's weight 9st 5lb same as last week. I need at least 1lb off for next friday.......................

I'm still here with a new card.
Phew, it took me just as long to find shoes, bag etc as it did to find a dress, lol. I'm almost sorted now so i'm back in my den.I am drafting this post last night ( if that makes sense ) as i'm working today so all i'll have to do is add the weigh in bit (guilt ridden) before i go. Any way here's a card, and about time too.
The card base is 5"x5". the backing paper is Papermania naughty and nice christmas, not just for christmas you know, lol. The big luscious drinkie is from a Woodware clear set called , of course, "cocktails". The sentiment is from a Penny Black set. Plenty of stickles and some flat backed gems and we're done.
Nine months ago when Neil and Nina said they were getting married, the words " i'll make you some favours" came pouring out of my mouth. Well it seemed so far away, plenty of time to think about that one!! Luckily there's only 40 for the day do. I've spent a bit of time chopping and folding bits of old card and have decided to do some mini milk cartons,. I got some cream and gold card from the papermill shop. I'll upload when they're finished and decorated ( another quandary).
So, here goes............Gulp............
............ The friday weigh in, lol. I don't know why i'm laughing because it's not funny! I'm still 9st 4 lb, the result of bank holiday and the presence of Speedy. If he's off we always end up in the pub, he thinks dieting is watching what you eat, drinking doesn't come into it . I intended to drink diet coke but my will power did a runner as soon as we got to the bar.Still, better behaviour next week, and i've adjusted the treadmill so i'm now going uphill .

Yummy cakes.
Well, my 2 days off soon went, lol. I just pottered yesterday but wednesday i spent a good few hours in town looking for my dress for the wedding. I actually tried dresses on which i thought would look awful but loads of them looked really nice on, so i'm now faced with the dilema of which one to buy. Still, i'm a step further.
Part of my pottering was done in my den and i made a few things for the next week or so.
Here's the first one. The stamps are from the Woodware tea for two clear set, coloured with promarkers. The papers are DCWV Retro stack. The ticket shape is from one of the flippin' men sets and the "temptation" stamp is Elzybells, well i had to sneak one in somewhere, lol. The happy birthday is by personal impressions and the card base is 6"x6". A bit of stickles and we're done. Except for.............
The friday weigh in, 9st 5lb, another one off which takes me back to where i was before i had that weekend away, total loss 11lb. I can see a huge difference though,it was all on my stomach and now it's almost flat. You can tell the difference on my face too. I wouldn't mind losing a couple more pounds just to "play with".
I'm going out for a meal tonight though for my sister in laws 25th anniversary. Oh dear...................

Cupcakes revisited.
Here is another "remake" card. It is one i made for a workmate about 18 months ago. She was heavily into cakes,...well any food really!
I think the cakes are by Inkadinkado, i'm not sure as they aren't in their original packaging.Once again they are coloured with watercolour pencils. The paper was a download from the days before my printer decided to play up, i think it could have been from Summer Driggs.
Here is the updated version coloured with promarkers. the gingham paper is from an old pack by Habico. The sentiment is from the Woodware "tea for two" clear set.It looks smudged in the photo but its not really.
A bit of stickles and it's done. The card base is 5"x7".
I didn't really enjoy making this card. This is happening quite a bit lately, i think it's partly mojo but also the pressure of needing 7 items a week to put on my blog is taking some of the pleasure away. The stuff turns out ok in the end but not until i've torn my hair out and trashed my den, lol. Also the thought of having to take pics, upload, edit and tweek them all doesn't fill me with glee at the moment. So i've decided to do the sensible thing and "go part time" for a while and just do posts, say, 4 or 5 times a week. Hopefully the thought of only needing to make 4 or 5 cards might remove some of the pressure and wake up my mojo. I was going to stick to certain days but i think even that may seem a bit restricting. I'll definitely be doing fridays though because that's weigh in day, lol. Oh and this is another thing that gets me. I'm not too good on the old keyboard so i have to look at my fingers all the time only to look up and find out i've done a whole sentence in CAPITALS, IT DRIVES ME MAD!!!! Part time is deffo "on the cards" for me for a while.I'm off to get something to eat and hopefully later i'll wander willingly into my den with my head full of ideas and make 50 cards, lol.
See you soon. Di.xx

WHS Bargains and new Woodware stamps.
I've got new stash coming out of my ears at the moment and i don't know where to start playing first!! I've still got loads of birthday money left too, i suppose i could spend it on new clothes but that's for grown ups lol. First of all ,get yourselves down to WHS and delve into any bargain bins they might have.
Bargains or what? I'm so pleased with the scissors, i have a few decorative ones which i use now and again but these are more of an irregular "torn" design.
Next up is a card i made with my new Woodware Mika and Friends clear set.
I must get myself a black promarker. I used a whispers pen for the kimonos but they are no good for blending with promarkers. The girls are cut out and glued onto the cream linen card, i didn't use 3d foam as i want to sell it and i like to keep my sale cards fairly flat as a lot of people aren't aware of the new postage rules.
Poor Speedy still hasn't seen his grandson.Neil rang to ask him to move his slot to a later one as another "visitor" was having our slot. Speedy's a mechanic who works for himself and had a car already booked in for that time so couldn't go. He had actually just nipped home to get changed when he got the call. He's fully booked up today too. I felt really sorry for him but have learned to keep my mouth shut.I suppose there'll be plenty of time when he's home.
Thanks for visiting. Di.xx
