" That card" again and a catasrtophe.

Evening all. What a day had yesterday. I was glad to get to work for a rest,lol.
My boss is a bit bah humbug about Christmas, or at least he pretends to be. I don't think he'd be too chuffed if  mum and dad said OK we'll cancel it then, no pressies this year. I thought i'd recycle a card design i used a couple of weeks back and make a version of  it for him.

His name is Patrick but everyone calls him Pasta. Hopefully it might raise a glimmer of a smile,lol. Another case of having to take the pic in electric light because suddenly it was dark.I had been too preoccupied to notice the light fading. My heating went off, my bathroom and kitchen sink pipes were frozen all day, and i wrapped about 70 stocking filler gifts. Hubby came home to " fiddle" with the heating and one of the pipes spewed water every where. Of course the pipe was in a cupboard full of junk which had to be pulled out fast. Managed to stop it and get the heating back on but the engineer is coming out tomorrow as the pipework has been done wrong. Glad we are renting as we would cop for the bill otherwise. And most of the contents of the cupboard is now in the bin where it belongs.
Things can only get better................................

Hello strangers!!!

Or is it me who's the stranger? I think so,lol. I've been making wedding favours. They required a bit of computer work which i'm crap at and the bridesmaids dresses changed colour slightly so i've been chasing ribbon.  They've been a slight headache but are in production at last. BUT......work has been interrupted by a very important matter. It's our  10th wedding anniversary tomorrow so i needed to make the lovely Speedy a card, and here it is.

This card sums us up to a tee. We are bezzie mates and are seriously joined at the hip, one is seldom seen without the other unless we are at work. It would probably drive some couples mad but we love it,lol. Just like Tilda , if we're out i have to sit within touching distance, if we're not, i'll pull the chairs closer. BLESS!! The papers are forever friends and while i was doing my head in on the computer i thought why not completely do my head in and print the greeting onto the card base. I got there in the end but a bottle of wine would not have been safe in the house. The little sentiment is an Elzybells stamp.

  We are going out for a meal tomorrow night and there's no way i'll be nibbling away on a melon fan and steamed fish,lol. Sod the diet, 10 years of cooking for Speedy deserves at least a 3lb gain. I'm going to go for it,i'll still be able to get into me frock a week on saturday. I know you'll all be thinking about me.........Right.........treadmill time ,lol..................

Friday Tilda.

Not the most original post title but never mind,lol.What nice weather we're having. I'm off next week so the monsoon will probably be back by then.Never mind i will be spending quite a bit of time making wedding favours. Luckily Nina wants them very plain which is a big help.
 Anyway,here's todays offering.

I was pottering around the house yesterday when i remembered my poor blog. I've got a whole sheet of Tildas all half coloured with different hair colours ready to finish off to match my card colours for times like this. I've got a Wizard and loads of nesties but i'm too lazy to crank away so it doesn't come out very often but when i was last in the Papermill shop i bought a Woodware 3" circle punch. It's slightly bigger than the nestie circle but that's fine by me all, i need to do is sit and crank a load of scalloped circles from my scraps to have on hand.The backing paper is K & Co. I bought the flowers from Hobby craft and the lazy sentiment was in a pack from The Papermill Shop.Add a punched butterfly  and a few gems and we're done.

"Are we indeed?", i here you say. No i haven't forgotten.........................

........The friday weigh in.  9st 3lb. Yippee another one off, total loss 13lb. I've got to the stage where i need to eat less or walk more and have chosen the latter,lol. I've walked loads this week both on and off the treadmill, i can't use it in the daytime because there's offices downstairs and people are tying to work so i've been out into the cruel world.It's our anniversary next week so i can't see me hitting my stone target as we're going out for a meal, Speedy will be off the next day which is always dangerous.Still if he wants to get into his suit trousers in 2 weeks time he'll have to behave, he's been struggling with the "diet thing" but the weekly try on of the suit reminds him of why he's got to do it,lol.

Musical birthday.

Hello everyone were we all windswept yesterday then? How i hate the thought of winter looming, dark cold and wet,yuk. My den is like an icebox in the winter too.Well, enough of that depressing talk, here's a card i made yesterday afternoon.

I forgot i had these papers, i've had them that long i don't know what they are. They are 12"x12" and are double sided in shades of greys browns blacks and creams, all very classy designs. The music paper is from Payperbox.The stamp is of course Magnolia Edwin. The sentiment is from a Papermania clear set and i managed to slip in a couple of peel offs from my mountain of them.

I mounted Edwin onto 3d pads for a bit of dimension. Card base is 6"x6".
Right, got to rush off now and get to work, ugh, that's another thing, the dark mornings are coming.

Sex change.(!!).

Here is the female version of yesterdays card.

The papers are Papermania Creative Tones. Looking at it now i reckon i should have swapped the papers ie the one with the bigger pattern should have gone to the back and the plainer one at the front so the pots and trowel showed up better, never mind, too late now, i'm past caring anyway lol.

 I'm taking these to work to be collected, he'd best turn up, it wouldn't be the first time i've rushed only to find i could have had a couple more days. Men !!

Two down, Two to go.

As i said yesterday i have an order for 4 cards. The prospect of the stash money is great but i hate making cards to order unless the person wanting them gives me about 2 weeks notice. Of course this never happens does it. The first ones are needed by tomorrow, one for a man who loves gardening and another for a lady who's just got an allotment.I tried to start them yesterday but it was just too hot and the windows in my room have been painted shut from the outside and we live three floors up so we just have to live with it.

I thought i'd just make a male and female version of the same card with my "emergency layout" to make life easy. The watering can is by Magnolia and the wellies and pots etc were from Lakeland a few years ago. They were in Lakelands own packaging but i think they could be made by Woodware, i'm not sure. Edit, they are woodware clear magic available from sir stampalot.

I just need the finish the one for the lady now. He also wants one for his daughter and luckily i've found one suitable in my box, i just need to put her name on it, then he wants one for his son who's birthday is next week so he can wait until friday for that one.

Tilda's been framed.

Oh how i hated making this card yesterday! I had a head start with Tilda because i've got a sheet of her with her hair and skin all coloured and ready to finish to match the card. That's when the trouble started  deciding what colours to use. Then i decided to sit her in this Joanna Sheen frame. I was going to just leave it blue and white but i stupidly added a bit of lemon and peach to match tildas clothes .Then i decided it needed a nestie. It flippin' didn't, since when does a frame need a frame? Then i decided to add a layer of lemon.Why?!! Then i decided to complicate the rest of the card.

It was going to be such a simple blue and white jobby, i was going to paper piece the boots with the backing paper,which was different to the one i ended up using.

Then there's the flowers. I'm sick of putting flowers on cards but i'm stuck in a flower rut.Oh and i hate using coloured card bases so why did i do that too? You can't see it and it's a good job but i even gilded the ornate bits of the frame with a clear stardust gel pen!! It's just not a "me" card.  D'ya know what, i'm going away at the weekend for a couple of days and i think it's a good job. I might find a more logical mojo waiting for me when i get back.

Me and Speedy are going on one of these coach trips saturday to monday with all the oldies (back seat with the cider of course) and we don't know where the hell we're going because it's a mystery weekend, even the driver won't tell us where we're going until we get there.We've been on loads of them and we've never had a bad one yet (touch wood).The bit that Speedy's most gleeful about is that i can't pre google the craft shops if i don't know where we're going.

Unless i end up in the same state as yesterday i'll see if i can do some cards for scheduled posts while i'm away.

Magnolia quickie.

A quickie post today as i'm going with Speedy for his hospital check up and then on to work.This is a simple little card i made when i got back from mums yesterday.

This is a magnolia stamp. Tilda is supposed to sit on it but she's behind the potting shed getting up to no good with Edwin! The paper is My Minds Eye and the card base is 5"x5".

Guitar Edwin.

Hi everyone.I got to my mums yesterday and she'd made me some little CAKES!!!!  I  was so tempted but i was a good girl, i brought them home and put them straight into the freezer,phew!! I'm not going to tell Speedy about them otherwise they'll come straight back out,i may pull a couple out at the weekend depending on the scales.I made some crab and sweetcorn soup for last night and tonight which is a good start.

The "card du jour" is one of my older ones from my picasa albums. I think i was still using whispers pens for colouring. I can't remember where i got the paper from, dead helpful today hey? Still it is early. I'm off to work soon, i'm working with my boss who is only 22 and eats all day.Great.

Tilda's gone dotty.

Mornin' everyone, it looks like it's going to be another nice one.Diet starts today weighing in at ten stone two! Bear in mind i'm only 5' 2", of slight build and most of the weight is "out front". Me and Speedy are both the same shape! Mention diet to him though and he starts panic eating so we went to our local and had fish chips and peas as a sort of  "last supper". I reckon if i do a weigh in on here every friday i've got a better chance of sticking to it. We'll see.
Anyway on to the card.

That flower doesn't clash like that in real life and who said the camera never lies? The paper is from the papermania naughty and nice christmas pad.My nesties had a rare airing for this one.

I coloured tilda with promarkers and propped her up with 3d foam pads. A little peel off and some flat backed gems finishes it off.
I'm off to mums today to help her with her shopping. She's 89 and a damn sight fitter than i'll ever be.   Thanks for visiting.  Di. x

Twin Tildas.

A couple of cards i made yesterday afternoon.

The papers are from the forever friends all loved up pad. I  paper pieced her pants to match the backing paper.

Coloured with promarkers and a bit of chalk around the edges. Must go now and earn some rent money!

Tilda birthday.

Hello again. Slightly warmer today and no snow,touch wood.It's my days off today and tomorrow so i've got the slow cooker in action so i can have an easy life for the next few mealtimes. I was lucky enough to find one which is split in half so i've got a beef ruby going on in one half and italian beef with tomatoes and olives in the other, talk about clash of the aromas in the kitchen !!

So with that sorted i can now show you a card i made last week. The design paper is from the bloom and grow stack from My minds eye. I love these papers as they have elements like the flowers on this card which can be cut out to embelish. I coloured Tilda with promarkers and paper pieced her wellies.

I'm off into my craft room now to have a play.
