Welcome to my blog. I hope you find plenty of inspiration here. Nothing too fancy, no great skills required, just lots of cards, gifts and perhaps the odd bit of shopping.

My blog contains lots of links to freebies. Without sounding like "mother" can I ask you to leave a kind comment to the generous givers of such fabulous artwork. I know of at least a couple of artists who are feeling a bit unloved at the moment. Thanks. X

Thank you Laura.

These little cards would be nothing without the hilarious image by Laura at Pop N Stick.  As soon as i saw it i had to make some Happy Spring cards for my family.
Look at that funny little face, lol. Isn't it just so cute? Here's a close up.
The card bases are 5"x5" from Tesco and the paper is K& Co. The glitter glue is Hobbycraft's own at £1.25. In my opinion it is as good as Stickles and the bottle is bigger.
I added the sentiment ( again, inspired by Laura ) on the computer before printing out. I'm not going to enter into any challenges with this card because as i said, it would be nothing without the image and it is so similar to Laura's card it wouldn't be fellow bloggerly of me,lol.

On the subject of challenges, i won top 5 at Meljens again with my little rabbit in the bath further down the page.

Right,........ things to do,  places to go,  debt to get into............................

New Baby Card.

Speedy's niece has given birth to a baby boy so of course a card is in order. I have just made it this morning and needed to take a quick piccie before it goes off to Australia tomorrow with the rest of the family's cards.
This, along with the baby girl stamp, both from Lilli of the Valley, is one of my favourite baby stamps.I was naughty last week and bought the Best of K and Company pad of 360 papers. They were priced at £29.99 but as the pad was a bit dog eared i got a fiver Knocked off. The papers are gorgeous though and i've been hankering for ages.
The glitter glue is still wet so it doesn't look too good but i needed to write it and give it to speedy (still wet and not in the envelope) to take to his mums. So off he's gone and left me in peace.
I'm entering it into the C.R.A.F.T. New baby challenge.

One for the kids.

Why does it always seem to be friday? It soon comes round. The good thing is that friday is payday and the bad thing is that i have to get on the scales, lol.
I made this little card from an image i found at Colouring Pages for Kids HERE.
Cute little cat. I used promarkers to colour him and found the gingham offcut in my scraps. Card base 6"x6".

Oh dear, just tried my link and the cat image has been removed but there is a very similar one there.

Less is more for the men.

Well, i'm pleased to say i won top 5 in Meljens  "green" challenge with my little green get well card further down the page. Probably just beginners luck but it's made me want to have a few more goes at challenges. Well until i get bored with the linking up bit, lol. So, i've decided to make a card for this weeks challenge at Less is More which is to make a masculine card.

The stamp is by Funstamps and i've just used one navy blue layer between the image and the card base. The only embellishment is a bit of glossy accents on the buttons. The card base is 6"x6".

It looks like it's going to be a nice day today so i'm going on the treadmill for 20 minutes then i'm going to go for a big walk. I've got fat issues which need to be sorted before Friday.............

Dotty Challenge.

Morning all. Another dull one but it may brighten up a bit later. Today's card is going into the Meljens " use dots" challenge.
The image is by Meljen's Designs and available from Whimsy stamps. The dotty paper is some i've had for a few years.I think it's from the English Paper Company but i can't be sure.
I added some gems on the bubbles and lots of stickles. The card base is 6"x6".
Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of sunday,  Di.xx

Gladly Not Needed.

This is the sort of card we all need from time to time but thankfully this one is just going into my card box.

I spent a long time looking in Google images as i don't really have many suitable ones in my stash. I finally found this one in some colouring pages HERE.  I'm not sure about copyright terms on colouring pages but I'm sure it would be OK to make cards for personal use only.
It's a lovely image. Just right for this type of card and didn't need a lot of colouring. I hope i don't need to write it for a long time.

Time to get ready for work now but first..............

Target weight, 9st 2lb.  Today's weight, still on the naughty step at 9st 3lb.

Feeling A bit Green.

Hello everyone. A bit dull today but never mind. I've just got back from Morrisons. It's only one stop away on the train (station is 2 mins walk away) and they've just started running the trains every 15 mins instead of every 30 mins which makes it much better. I'm not such a slave to Tesco now. I thought it might brighten up so i could take a decent photo of my card but this is as good as it gets.

This is another MELJENS  stamp. I love the pityful face on the little bear, looks like Speedy when he gets man flu which isn't very often thank God. They're so needy aren't they, bless. The striped paper is from the Papermania Verde Collection and the other two are scraps. The shiny little dots is actually glitter glue which didn't want to be nice to the camera. Card base is 6" 6"

I'm entering this into meljens challenge  " green".

Howdy, Cowboys.

I was taking a stroll through Arthurs Free Clipart and came across THIS cute little image. How sweet is he?  There are a lot of serious images on this site but if you spend a bit of time sifting through there's quite a few cuties.
The stripy paper is from DCWV  Stack 6 and the other one is Papermania Henbury Lane. I've started to put a watermark on my cards because i was looking through a blog challenge site and i saw a card with an image which looked exactly like one i had on one of my cards. I went in for a closer look and the colouring was over the edge in exactly the same place, hmmm........... I suppose it's quite possible to zoom in on the image part of someones card and print it out. So the picasa  "add text"  function is now in full use.
I printed the sentiment onto the card using Thread Fun font. I'm so glad i learned to do this. No more crooked smudged sentiments and no more having to buy stamps. And of course they can even be naughty sentiments !

Decided to enter     Alphabet Challenge Blog  " stripes" challenge.

A Load of Leprechaun.........

Well, i've been a good girl for far too long and have fallen off the smut wagon, lol. Remember the Christmas reindeer s**t bags?  Someone i gave one to said it might be an idea to make some for ST Patricks day. Since then i've been obsessed with finding something green.  I was about to give in and just use chocolate raisins when i spotted these at Julian Graves. I was beside myself with glee !!
I bought 3 bags at £1.89 each.  The seed had been planted and now i'd got the fertiliser. All i needed to do now was to Google a suitable image and there were quite a few to choose from. I chose one which i could get away without colouring..
I made up the little poem weeks ago( naughty word scuffed out of photo but is there in real life) and just needed to add the little drawing and print them out. Feel free to copy my little ditty, blogging is about sharing and having fun.
I put 15 little bread sticks in each bag (the ones used for 4"x6" cards with tops chopped off) and got 7 bags out of each packet. Cheap laughs hey?  The best bit?  My boss's name is Patrick and he's just as smutty as me. We'll have heap big fun giving these out next week. Look out regular customers.......

I'm working this morning but was woken extra early by the local  ASBO blackbird shouting and bawling in the tree outside. Where's my gun?

Target weight 9st 2lb.  Today's weight 9st 3lb. One back on thanks to pancake day and the Cadbury's rep dishing out the new Big Race bars.....yummy...go on , you know you want to.........

More Summertime Fun.

I was playing around with My Craft Studio, printing some greetings onto card bases when i decided to have a go at printing a a background.I found a square design by Summer Driggs and stretched it a bit into a rectangle and positioned it above the greeting. I had to print it onto scrap paper a few times to get it in the right place but here's the card.
I punched 2 holes for the ribbon and the image is Penny Black. There is a link to the printable greeting on my post from Sunday.
I coloured the spots again with my promarkers.

Update on our syndicate win on the Irish Lottery.................... We have 2 playcards........The counter assistant had put the same (non winning) playcard through the machine  twice so the other one wasn't issued and we ended up with 2 identical tickets.  The bloke who payed them in didn't think to check them so no flamin' money !!! I got over my rant and forgave. I bet he'll be triple checking in future. It's a pity she hadn't put the other one through twice, lol.  I've seen it happen in our shop, if someone has more the one playcard, i'll put them through one at a time and then put each one aside while doing the next but a couple of girls have them all in their hand like shuffling a pack of cards. I always tell the customer to check their tickets as i would be gutted if this happened to one of them.

Mo Mannings card.

Isn't this such a sweet little image. I managed to bag it for free a couple of weeks ago but it is still available to buy from Mo Mannings  HERE.
The gingham paper is Papermania from the Tina Higgins Verde pad. And here's a close up of my outside the line colouring. I'm not proud, lol.

The greeting was from Greeting by TLC  HERE and is printed straight onto the card.
Remember me telling you me and Speedy joined an Irish Lottery syndicate in January? Well, we had our second £500 win last night. There are 7 of us altogether and have decided to keep the prize money aside and share it out just before Christmas so we've got a grand between us so far. I hope our luck keeps up.

Spotty Cow !

Still enjoying my week off. Not done anything exciting but it's nice not to have to smile and be polite to the public for a week.I've done a half hearted sort out in my craft den and found a folder with a load of papers i printed out ages ago. Most are from Summer Driggs. I also had a tidy of my unmounted stamps and unearthed a stamp set by CC Designs. It's available from Dies To Die For. So of course i had to make a card.
I fancied paper piecing her dress but didn't fancy doing that fiddly bit behind the bag handle so i decided to do spots with my promarkers. Much easier.
The flowers and card candy are from the dreaded Craftwork Cards goody bag, lol.
I don't normally do challenges but on a whim i decided to enter  Meljens U R such an animal challenge.

I've walked loads this week, plus i haven't been surrounded with sweets and crisps so............
Target weight 9st 2lb.  Today's weight 9st 2lb. How long for though? We shall see...........

Another Meljens Digi.

This blog is fast becoming the Meljens number one fan blog, lol. I love her designs. They are so clean looking and very easy to colour. For anyone who hasn't seen my previous links to her freebies they are HERE. Melissa is so kind, there's loads to be had. You can also buy her designs from a link to Whimsy stamps on her blog. There are new releases every thursday.
This card was for an order from a male friend who's in the habit of ringing up last minute wanting a personalised card. The floral backing paper is DCWV and the pink paper is one i printed from My Craft Studio before my printer started playing up. The card is 6"x6".
I've got a week off work to start using some of my hols up. It's been nice and sunny today so i've just got back from Liverpool.  The Papermill Shop is still there. There's plenty of card and paper but not much else.I got a lovely dress for a tenner from Wallis and a few promarkers from Rennies in Bold St.

I've been doing lots of walking both on and off the treadmill to get back down to my target weight. I was hungry yesterday and there wasn't much in the house so i made a thin omelette with one egg, put it in a wrap with the dreggs of an iceberg lettuce, a bit of onion and some light mayo. Do you know what? It was gorgeous !! Definitely to have that more often. It's funny how something so simple can be so yummy. It was deffo better than sex but not quite as good as chocolate, lol.
